Business Traveller invited its readers to dine at The Game Bird

Readers exchanged stories of recent adventures while indulging in seasonal dishes at The Game Bird in October 2019, the critically acclaimed restaurant within The Stafford London on St James’s Place.

The event was hosted by Business Traveller editorial director Tom Otley, and attended by managing director of Panacea Publishing Julian Gregory, Business Traveller staff writer Hannah Brandler, and head of events at Panacea Publishing Emma Gordon.

At a pre-dinner reception, travellers mingled over a glass of champagne, discussing business trips and sharing tips on bucket-list destinations. Readers were then welcomed into The Sutherland Room, an elegant private dining room characterised by original marble fireplaces and floral-upholstered leather chairs.

The three-course dinner started with a choice between smoked salmon tartare and a fittingly autumnal baked squash custard with Brighton blue cheese, walnuts and apple. Mains included a game-centric partridge, leek and ham pithivier, and the vegetarian alternative of hay-baked celeriac with braised onion, marmite butter and sorrel cream. Suitably satisfied but craving a sweet denouement, guests were presented with a coffee crème brûlée topped with milk ice cream, followed by petit fours and tea and coffee.
